What is your favorite obscure movie?
I don't want to hear about mainstream movies.
No award winners please.
Low-budget, no-budget, what ever.
Cult classics are A-ok.
Some of my less popular favorites are:
Radioland Murders
Cube
Noises Off
Salvage
The Snapper
Interstate 60
Trick
The Hole
Near Dark
Oscar
Better than Chocolate
Strangeland
Saved!
The Krays

So, this new guy is very nice. In fact, I think he’s too nice for me. I told him so too.
What I didn’t tell him is that I’m afraid that once he really gets to know me, he’ll stop calling.
Anyway, enough with theself-loathing paranoia.
He took me out on Friday night, and Saturday night and we have plans for this weekend as well. So, its starting off pretty well.
I’m going to Shawnee tomorrow night with mom and I’m going to pick up something for
bobbinrob because she’s awesome and I want to mail her something I don’t think that she can get in Australia. In fact, I’m picking up a few things because I am sending out at least three packages this next week of stuff for other awesome people on my flist.
I was going to watch 12:01 last night. I got it on Friday and last night seemed perfect. Between my mom’s sudden urge to get online to pay a bill, my son forgetting he had homework and a phone call that should have been five minutes but wound up being two thirty minute calls, it was already 9:15 by the time I could’ve watched it. So, instead, I just went to bed. Anyone seen it? Worth watching?

The dog introduction went pretty well. Odie went over to the puppy with his hackles raised but tail wagging. I think he was feeling a little unsure but Buster is so small, he didn’t seem to be a threat.
I put the puppy in the kennel, and left Odie loose in the house while we went out to dinner. We met up with the family, table for ten.
I dropped the boys off at home and went to Walmart by myself. I had to get my new puppy a bed, some puppy food and toys. I bought Odie a new toy too so that he wouldn't be too terribly jealous. It was a pretty uneventful trip really.
( spooky side trip )
I watched Hitman this weekend. I don’t know why people were complaining about the casting of Timothy Olyphant as 47. I thought he did an outstanding job as 47, and the movie itself was freakin’ awesome. I watched it twice in a row. Then during dinner, Dad wanted to see it before I sent it back so we watched it again.
Still need to watch The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford but it’s a little over 2.5 hours and I just haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ve had the movie for over a week so thank goodness for Netflix and their “keep for as long as you want” policy. I just have got this feeling of dread that its going to be one of those epic Dancing with Wolves/Last of the Mohicans movies that the critics(and everyone else it seems) loved but makes me feel like my brain is slowly atrophying.

I'm still not feeling quite up to snuff today. Thanks for the comments yesterday.
I kinda slept in this morning. Until 8, then I took the dog out. I dozed until 9 and finally decided to stop fighting the envitable and got up at 9:30. Me and the boys headed out and went to GameStop first to look through all their previously owned games.
They got:
Spiderman: Friend or Foe
Nicktoons: Attack of the Toy Bots
and I got:
Hitman 2: Silent Assassin
PSI-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Blinx: The Time Sweeper (its rated E for everyone and I don't care :P
I also bought four previously owned movies:
1408
disturbia
Hot Fuzz
The Abandoned (they were 4 for $20 and I needed a fourth)
We had lunch at Red Lobster because the sushi place we used to go to closed and there is a new restaurant in its place. That sucked but the guy who waited on us was really nice and cute too so, that's always a perk. So today was definitely on the "WIN" side.
I'm feeling crappy now so I'm going to take some more cold medicine and take a nap.

This is really just for me. I made a list of me and the boys' movies. It's super freakin' long so it goes under a cut.

I am waiting to get some stuff back to revise. In the meantime I thought I might do some movie reviews. Not in MST3000 format, although I do it in real life that way. Sometimes though I just don’t remember my first instincts, which is where that comes from. There will be some spoilers, and I have separated them so that you won’t get spoiled accidentally (just in case).

So, I was checking my email and on the front page of my AOL I see a story about "racist" video games. Rather its a story on how certain video games make one more likely to be a racist *raise eyebrow*. I'm a masochist so I click.
This has got to be the funniest response ( ever" )
Also I saw a movie called Salvage yesterday. It is kinda low budget horror and I really wanted to make fun of it. I give 4 out of 5 stars. Its a bit on the gory side, and is intentionally confusing for alot of it. I didn't figure it out, until 20 minutes from the end. Even then, I didn't have it ALL figured out. I recommend it if you like horror like that.
I didn't expect it to be very good. Especially after watching Zombie Honeymoon right before that. Which by the way brought new definition to the word suck.

Not a technical movie review but just some thoughts about it.
So I rented a movie called Devour because I’m a fangirl.
There were three people in the whole movie who I recognized.
Jensen Ackles - All fangirling aside (man is so very pretteh), he’s really a good actor.
William Sadler - He’s ok, I only remember him from Demon Knight with Billy Zane as the Demon. I was rooting for the bad guy.
and
Shannyn Sossamon- I don’t like her, really and truly. I don’t think she could act her way out of a paper bag. Also I don’t think she’s pretty. Not a troll, obviously, but there is something about her that makes me think she was put together all wrong.
So, last night I sent the kids to bed and I put the movie in. Dad and I watch and there is some MST3000 type comments, as usual.
( movie spoilers )
I kept thinking that I should buy this movie, and then was reminded that maybe I shouldn't, because it wasn't very good.
But it was better than The House that Screamed, which still holds the title of THE WORST MOVIE EVER MADE .

I pull up my netflix and I see a movie called The Hard Corps (2006) on my homepage.
Here's the description:
An ex-special forces soldier (Jean-Claude Van Damme) takes a job as a bodyguard and finds himself battling it out with a powerful gangster rapper in this explosive action film. After fighting in Desert Storm, Phillip Sauvage is hired to protect a professional boxer and his family from a music industry kingpin who has a bone to pick with the pugilist. Not taking any chances, Sauvage hires a crack team of ex-commandos who will fight to the death.
Which makes me wonder if my taste in movies really sucks that bad. Maybe it's just because I happen to like action movies, they assume that I just might be willing to sit through a crap movie to see someone get pummled to a bloody mess without any regard to the actual storyline.
If I just want to see a vicious fight, I'll watch UFC.
